SuperSister

Hi there! Wanted to throw out a few pics from the weekend and Laura's visit! We didn't take a ton of pics, or do anything monumental, but we had a great time together, and she enjoyed helping with baby stuff, relaxing, and feeling little dude squirm around.

She arrived earrrrly Friday and P brought her straight to school where she hung out with him/us most of the day in classes and drumline practices and such. After school, some of the parents and students threw a small shower for us and as a result, FINALLY, the name has gone public. A lot of people couldn't be there due to the football game (most of drumline couldn't go to this game due to other activities, so P and I didn't have to go this time) in OKC, but it was nice of them to do it while Laura was here. We were touched by the number of people who brought gifts even though they couldn't attend. Everything was adorably jungley (one of the students took pics but I don't have them yet) and they even put up some baby pics of P and I:

They also fed us some cookies and cupcakes and gave us these beautiful peachy roses in a vase with a cute little lion, nearly the same color as the roses, tied around it. we also got a ton of cute rocker-type little boy clothes with guitars on them and such- it was really cute. we're honored to work at a school where the parents and students are so generous and involved.

It was really sweet. The rest of the weekend was pretty low key, which was fantastic. We did manage to get some exchanges/purchases made for the baby - including the new car seat (our old color pattern was discontinued so we had to get a new color for the stroller, which meant the car seat wouldn't match! Then they didn't have the matching car seat - it was all very dramatic. All got resolved and we picked out an even cooler bassinet than we'd seen before - with a removable moses basket and easy-to-swap-out changing table. Laura picked it out, and helped us assemble it too!

It's nice to know that if he somehow arrived tomorrow, we'd at least have all the gear ready. Anyway we ate a few meals out, played some video games, and watched an exciting (for a change) Browns game with our Browns Backers club (they lost in overtime) before having to take her back to the airport on Sunday. It was an awesome visit.

oh, and here's my ginormous belly (33 weeks). people are starting to sound surprised when i tell them i am not due till nov. 20. i don't take it too personally because they just associate a pretty pregnant person with being ON THE VERGE OF LABOR AT ANY MOMENT. which is just funny. i haven't even had any Braxton-Hicks contractions yet!

Aw! You look awesome, lovely! And so does Laura! Sounds like a good weekend. There's something about the fall that brings out the "project" oriented and family oriented person in all of us.. Your project-Baby K's room. Mine? um... I'll figure it out, but I want one. haha! I'm sad I missed Laura's visit but glad ya'll had such a great time!
