so two months ago i composed a GORGEOUS post about our santa fe trip. it took a long time due partially to me and partially to some technical difficulties trying to use p's mac when i had no idea what i was doing (i have since bought my own macbook and am learning). BUT BLOGGER ATE IT. and i guess i never got over it. so i haven't blogged since. thinking of taking my blog-business elsewhere (iweb? wordpress?) so am taking your recommendations.
love and kisses and dont worry, my son is still adorable,

i am a BLOGGING MACHINE
er, not really. just wanted to show you all this awesome article about my husband and his music program in the current issue of Tulsa People.
he's had some press before for the program, but this article is my favorite so far. i'm so proud of all he has done.
please check it out!

omg, SORORITY!
people often either don't believe me, or laugh at me, when i tell them i was in a sorority. i was. and it was cool, actually. one of the reasons i loved it is knowing so many DIFFERENT types of people (not just students in my own major, ya know).
what i am even more impressed with is that you can continue to grow together - all you different types of people - over the years.
this weekend i went to sunny table rock lake with 7 girls that i was sorority sisters with in college. i still talk to them - most of them frequently. they are probably half of the people who ever see this blog! they are my FRIENDS. but this weekend i fell more in love with each one of them and i am so happy to have had this opportunity to hang out with them. GAWD HOW MUSHY IS THAT!
anyway, for quality text and pics, visit kat or jackie's blog for their posts about it.
i mean, you know you love your friends when you do this with them:

and have so much fun doing it.

THE lamp!
this summer we spent a couple of days in santa fe. at some point i will share some awesome pictures of the area and such. but for now, this is real fun.
we went to santa fe because a family at school had offered us their family's condo for a week as a thank-you for the extra work paul had done with their son throughout the year. super nice ofthem. anyway the gentleman who owns the house is a photographer and art collector and eccentric, i would say. as a result, the decor of the condo did not disappoint: traditional native american/mexican/new mexican art would be right next to fun kitschy things from this store:
design warehouse - which we visited while there and was totally awesome in every way.
the home's owner (who paul knows, so we're not staying in a total stranger's house or anything) seems to have a deep love for collecting LAMPS. in the living/kitchen area upstairs, i believe i counted ten lamps. LAMPS EVERYWHERE. but this one, in the upstairs bathroom, was our favorite:

lamp off

lamp on!
cute, right! i'm almost certain it came from that design warehouse store but they didn't have one when we shopped there. i would like to have twelve. a great gift for any occasion: winkie lamp!

parkie eats
dearest son has been rocking the solid foods for some time now - i started just shy of six months with cereal once a day because it was clear he was hungry. and if you have ever lifted my child, you would agree that he does not miss a meal. he is a healthy boy at 25.4lb!
i've been making his food (except the cereals) and i've really enjoyed it! it also helps encourage me to visit the farmer's market for good veggies for him. thanks to my dear husband getting me a cuisinart food processor for xmas, his food has been easy to make.
currently, parkerton enjoys the following (in order of his trying it):
baby cereal (rice, oatmeal, etc)
bananas (his fave!)
avocado
yellow squash
butternut squash
sweet potato (thanks gram for making them for him while we were in NH!)
zucchini
and my latest attempt: green beans! (see below - thanks melissa for the awesome bib)

despite the face in the pic (blame iphone 3g camera speed) he seemed to love them right away. next on the list to puree are carrots and eggplant. i don't really have a plan after that- feel free to leave your suggestions!

well, who knew?
just when i thought i had given up the goat on blogging, i found out that some of our family doesn't really have any other way to know what's up with us and see pictures of the kiddo (particularly our family overseas). well crap!
and park's finally asleep so i could post gorgeous pics of our two recent trips - but they are on the huz's computer. and it's, like, all the way OVER THERE.
so here's a teaser from the few pics i had on my phone.
also, i'd like to state for the record that TRAVELING BY AIR WITH BABIES PRETTY MUCH SUCKS. i think most of you know that already. but wow. additionally, amer*can a*rlines can stuff it. WE ARE NOT FRIENDS.
so, vote, friends! what shall i blog about this week?
A.Just pics! No words necessary.
B.rant about travel woes and how crap at your house always breaks on your vacation
C.haiku about work and cleaning
D.a list of all the things my dog has chewed
E.other (fill in the blank)

parker wears cute shit
i should have been doing this as a feature for ages: my son has some really cute clothes, imo. and i have to agree with something jenny and i discussed recently: it makes me happy for him to look cute. like, i may not look how i want to right now and i may not get to do my hair every day, but if parker looks fly, then i am happy. here are some recent selections that could be filed under "parker wears cute shit".

barf vader! love it.

oh hai! my shoes match my onesie. no big deal or anything!

subfolder: "didn't think it was cute until i saw him in it". this one goes there. the pants are just so silly-cute, and very baby-ish, as opposed to the previous outfit which is very "regular adult clothes but tiny".

mommy loves rompers! onesie+extra fabric to make it an outfit? heck yes. easy peasy.

paul thought it was weird that i made them take this pic in front of the tattoo place, but it made a cool background! that yellow giraffe onesie totally has a hood. AND i used to have a t-shirt with that same threadless print on it! i have a better pic of him in it with the hood up and giggling that i don't have at the moment- i am on p's laptop. it's pretty stellar. OH WAIT i believe we have another case of "my shoes match my onesie" on our hands!
i could go on and on with his hip style. i often save his music-themed outfits for fridays when i take him to riverfield with me. gotta represent his rockin daddy, i figure!
