SOUTHERN VACATION 1: okay, so it was like a month ago, but whatever.

hey! remember that one time? when p and i drove all over the south? okay, well, i guess i am ready to post pics of it now.

the first day, we drove straight to alexander city, alabama. it's a cute, quaint old place. but there is literally nothing there except for the russell athletic wear outlet and factory. and a few piggly wigglys. definitely not much in the way of internet or cell signal - i think you could definitely hide there if that was your goal. we, however, had a few work things we had to do- which sent us into town searching for internet. the first time, we had to plug into the one ethernet port at the library. the second time, someone was already on the one ethernet port! the nerve! so we ended up in the parking lot by the drugstore that had free wi-fi. that was cosy.

aaaanyway, we spent a few days hanging out with p's grandparents, wanda and floyd. i'm fairly certain they are more productive than me at 86 and 91, respectively. floyd still kills snakes in his yard, mows, maintenances the 8ish pecan trees on their property, etc!

okay, the rest of alabama is going to be in a second post, cause i didn't structure this one right and i am not going to move all those pics around.

LOL. I don't even know what piggly wigglies is, but I remember that line in the film Sweet Home Alabama when Reese's character says something derogatory to her husband about how he thinks a good time on a saturday night (or something like that) is drinking a beer and hanging out at the piggly wigglies. I'm paraphrasing, of course. Anyway, funny stuff. ;)

Piggly Wiggly is one of the grocery stores there. They sell Wickles!

Paul's grandma calls it "The Pig", which is cute.
