there's a down side to a wonderful weekend like that though: sunday evening. i got home from having such a nice time with a lot of people that i love, and i have to admit, i felt a sense of letdown. everything is back to normal now! with making lunches and ironing pants and all kinds of lame daily activities! i felt so empty for a couple of hours.
but the fog lifted, and i found myself rejuvenated: i spent an hour this morning doing the dishes and cleaning up the zillion pairs of pants i left on the guest bedroom floor this week. i felt less stressed when the students were chaotic today, and i felt happier in general.
it seems that life works well that way - you have events to look forward to that motivate you, and then the joys of those events and memories help you drag through the minutiae and banality that everyday life sometimes offers.
thanks, friends, for the reminder! i'm off to go clean something!
